Another Must-Upgrade Version Oct 28, 2009
By Ruth Perryman
"The QB Specialists"
For the second year in a row, Intuit has given us a compelling reason to upgrade to QuickBooks Premier for Accountants 2010. My team and I spend most of our day troubleshooting common client data entry errors that are easy to find but can be very time-consuming to correct. That was before the new client data review tools that were introduced in the 2009 version and have been expanded on in 2010.
In addition to the tools introduced in 2009 (troubleshooting account balances, list changes, undeposited funds, sales tax and payroll liabilities, and customer and vendor unapplied payments/credits), this tool now allows you to easily:
* Reclassify hundreds of transactions, or write off multiple invoices, statement charges, and financial charges from a single window
* Identify items with negative inventory in two clicks, then fix them directly in Client Data Review
* Identify and make adjustments to incorrectly set up items, including "one-sided items"
* Automatically fix incorrectly recorded Sales Tax Liability payments
Client Data Review is a must-have feature - I simply couldn't live without it!

Blue Screen of Death Apr 08, 2010
By Quolet
"Avid Reader"
I have searched the web and found that many people who use this version of QB's are experiencing on closing down the program the dreaded blue screen of death. On my Windows XP machine every time I close QB 2010 it gives me the blue screen and I have to reboot my computer from scratch. I would avoid this update and wait for next year's version.

Laurie of Laurie's Bookkeeping Services Nov 18, 2009
By Laurie Harms I have used QuickBooks exclusively for about 13 years now. I love how it paves the way for small business owners to get a feel for how business is done. I think it is imperitive for small business owners to learn how to use the software correctly as they can get themselves in deep doo doo rather quickly and also think they need other software that, in the end will find out QuickBooks fulfills that need. This said, QuickBooks is not to be underestimated. QuickBooks will take care of you & your business if you understand what it is capable of and how it works. Call your local QuickBooks Pro for guidence, it will definately be worth the effort & money!

Client Data Review (CDR) helps CYA! Oct 27, 2009
By Robin Tooma, CPA
"Your CFO"
Like most CPA firms, we're trying to be paperless and also ensure we have a standardized set of best practices for reviewing our client QuickBooks data. Using the Client Data Review (CDR) feature allows us to do both! In addition to a built-in checklist of items to review, the CDR features time-saving tools that allows you to quickly review and correct client errors. Best of all, you can add notes to the review detailing your procedures or items to consider for next time, and these comments are hidden from your client. This ensures continuity and consistency, and helps ensure you've documented your professional due diligence. More than 95% of our clients use QuickBooks, so we're incorporating the CDR feature as a standard practice within the firm.
