1Love the snaps, hate the mold/mildew  Apr 28, 2010 By Claire Currier
I initially loved this bib for three reasons: 1) its laminate surface is super easy to clean, 2) it has snap closures, which is hard to find in my opinion is essential (velcro inevitably stops "sticking" after months of normal use and basic washing, rendering the bib useless), and 3) it is comfortable for my kids to wear (unlike hard plastics).

However, now after using it for about 6 months, black mold/mildew is (rather suddenly) growing between the layers of the bib. It's impossible to clean off, even with straight bleach, and while I do not yet have odor issues, I expect (based on other reviewers' comments) that I soon will. I'm a bit freakish about mold, especially since my children eat with these bibs... these will most certainly find their way to my trash as soon as I can replace them.

BTW - I've only ever hand-washed these bibs, and usually clean them just by wiping the surface. If even this most basic, careful maintenance can lead to mold/mildew, then clearly the product is defective.

If anyone knows of a laminate snap-bib that has a better track record and longer life span, please let me know! I'll buy these again with the knowledge that they will not last long, but only if I can't find another laminate snap-closure bib as an alternative.

5The BEST bibs!  Feb 02, 2010 By Allison "allgood2000"
I have several of these bibs and LOVE them! The first ones I bought had a vinyl liner that would collect water if I soaked them in the sink or washed them in the washing machine. I can totally see how they would harbor smells. However, the subsequent ones I purchased did not have that vinyl liner and are just as durable and washable without it. I cut the vinyl out of the first ones and now they are great! These are so easy to keep clean. I either just wipe them down if they aren't too dirty, or throw them in the DISHWASHER if they are really dirty. I have washed them this way regularly for at least a year and they still look awesome (I don't use the heat dry cycle on my machine, though, just FYI). Love, love, LOVE these bibs! Babies can't get them off, either - and the neck is adjustable so they fit my 6 month old just as well as my two year old.

5Worth the money!  Apr 03, 2009 By K. Logterman
These clean up great and don't stay wet long, which means they don't end up smelling like many bibs I've tried! Love the designs as well!

1The MOLDY STINK NEVER GOES AWAY  Apr 20, 2010 By Cat
Pro: It is a very good size to cover my child.
Major Con: It smells, and no matter what you do, the smell will NEVER GO AWAY.
I also bought 2. Now looking at Bumkins and Baby Bjorn. I hope JJ Cole looks into this because while the designs are wonderful, the product is terrible. Someone at another retail web site said they contacted JJ Cole, which I considered doing, but after 3 weeks, JJ Cole had not responded to this individual. Disappointing all around.

4great bib!  Apr 27, 2012 By HL in MA
These bibs are the best once kids get into eating "real food" - it isn't too stiff that it's awkward for kids to wear, but it's a strong rubber bib that protects against all food & has a great pocket. It hand washes really well, but gets worn down too much when put into the washing machine.
LOVE these!
